Here's a small collection of things that I have written that I rather like,
or that some people have asked me to keep in a place like this, so they're
easier to get to. If you have any questions about any of it,
send them my way.
The Story of Heather
A delightfully stupid poem found on a tea towel in Scotland. It's all about me, sort of...
Movies Everyone Should
See (According to Me) - Just a quick list I compiled of some of the movies
that I feel are cornerstones of culture, history, film literacy, etc. Good
stuff.
London Log - A lovely
travel journal from my first magical trip to London in November of 2001.
Most people seem to get a kick out of it. I also have an extensive photo
gallery to go along with the travelogue.
London Log 2 - My second
trip to the United Kingdom the following May.
(In)sane - I've
been writing this novel for years now. I haven't gotten
very far because it has proven to be incredibly difficult to write. It's
the story primarily about the effects of post traumatic stress disorder,
presented from three perspectives. I'm posting a sample chapter now because
I want feedback. I've had this for quite some time, sitting on my computer,
only having been read by a few people. The script is finished, and has now
been dated and attributed to my name by several film archives. So, if you
try to steal it, I'll sue your butt off. I mean it.
The Toe - I never
intended to really show this to anyone, I had written for several friends who were curious and concerned about why I was always so ill. The
whole thing is rather raw and unforgiving. A very dear friend of mine pointed
out a few rather embarrassing errors, which I fixed, but beyond that I never
edited it. I wrote it as it came out, and let it be. It's the story of what
happened when I was stabbed with a dirty needle by an arrogant doctor. Needless
to say, it's rather sensitive.
No Toes and Faux Toes - "The Toe" essay was written only a few months after the amputation of my left big toe. I receive dozens of emails each month, asking me about what it's like to be an amputee, what kinds of problems I've faced, and what prosthetics are available for others who have had similar experiences. This essay covers it all, complete with pictures!
Prosthetics & Insurance Coverage - Updates on where to find prosthetics experts specializing in the creation of prosthetic toes, as well as advice on how to get approval from your insurance company to cover the costs.
Commercial Music - After realizing just how
much of my traffic comes from people searching for commercial music, I thought
I'd put it all in one centralized location.
