This was the first Scopitone I'd ever seen. It features cowboys, an Indian (yes, that's supposed to be an Indian), and of course, cowgirls in skimpy little outfits. This one's particularly famous, as it appeared in an episode of Lost, albeit only for a split second while Hurley was channel surfing. Keep an eye out for the cowgirl in yellow, she's my favorite. Why? Oh, you'll find out why. Let's just say, it involves a complete lack of ryhthm and being the world's biggest spaz. Enjoy! |

We've all heard this song before at some point, as it is one of the dozen or so songs that Oldies stations insist on repeating endlessly, despite its incredible cheesiness. But let me tell you, you don't know the half of it until you've seen Bobby Vee perform it himself, from the back of a fake motorcycle. It's like cheese squared, cheese times infinity, yea, even eternal cheese. The wind machine blowing through his hair, the blue speedo clad dancer gettin' down with his bad self, the platinum blonde in the ruffled panties shakin' her thing with some faux seaweed. Ah, yes, these were the days, the days when cheese ruled the world, and Bobby Vee was the Crowned Prince of Cheez-Whiz. |

Despite Sylvie's remarkable whiteness, she actually does a pretty good job with this classic. Somehow she takes a soulful tune and makes it all pixie and cute, and really, that takes talent. |
