Holy crap has it been

Holy crap has it been a long time since I last blogged. Believe me when I say I have been extremely busy. Let’s see, what have I been up to since March the twelfth. On Saturday the fifteenth, Jeremy came for a visit. That’s what really kept me busy. We were going nonstop every single day until he left on the twentieth, the following Thursday. We went to downtown DC, toured some museums, went to the zoo, drove all the way to Baltimore to go to the Aquarium. Basically, I was so worn out that I literally had blisters on my poor little toes. We did *that* much walking. Insane, isn’t it?

An entire weekend went by since then, so I’m sure you’re saying, since Jeremy’s gone why haven’t I blogged yet? On the twelfth I mentioned possibly going to Vegas. Well, guess where I am. :) The day after Jeremy left, I left. I flew out to Vegas, but for different reasons this time.

No, it isn’t Jeremy. I actually haven’t seen him since Thursday. Instead, I came out to see Paul (the one who took me to see “O”), to have some fun with Jeremy’s sister Julieanne, and to sort some important things out.

I spent the weekend with Paul. We went to a little impromptu family reunion at his cousin’s house because an aunt of his happened to come into town. I met all three of his brothers (one of whom has a website), his mom, and a bunch of cousins and family friends. It was great fun! We got there around two in the afternoon and ended up staying until nearly nine o’clock at night just talking. They had a barbeque, we jumped on the trampoline – the younger cousins made Paul show off and do flips on the trampoline. Then they turned on me. Dang it, I can’t do a flip anymore. They giggled at my “perfect form” (pointed toes, straight arms, etc), but I can’t land on my feet. Every time I landed straight on my behind. Oh well, I guess I’ll have to practice some more.

I met up with Julieanne at the hotel on Sunday night (I stayed on the Air Force Base before that because my plane arrived so late on Friday night. The original plan was to stay at Julieanne’s house Friday and Saturday night, but I felt bad disturbing everyone on Friday so late.) Yesteday (Monday), since Paul had to work and Julieanne had the day off, we went off to get some *fantastic* Mexican food. Mmmmm… authentic chimichangas. :-D I was really happy with that, believe me. Then she and I went out and about. Went to a few libraries, then off to a car dealership to play the Tiffany’s Game. She’s looking to buy a convertible and wanted to test drive a Sebring. I went as the token Bad-Cop to make sure the salesmen stayed in line. :) I love doing that.

Last night, Paul came by after work and took me out for ice cream. I was expecting just regular ole’ ice cream, but instead we drove and drove and drove. Probably about twenty minutes later we pulled up to a gelato place. :-D I was SO thrilled, it was the cutest thing ever. Basically, we ate ice cream for dinner. It was great! I got a waffle with two scoops of gelato on top (mint chip and fragola [strawberry]), and a lovely syrup dish on the side filled with chocolate sauce. Mmmmm.

Today, both Paul and Julieanne had to go to work. I slept in, woke up about an hour ago, and plan on spending the remainder of the afternoon reading some things I picked up at the library. For lunch, I think I’ll have a big bowl of Cap’n Crunch. :) Hey, I may even just stay in my pajamas all day! :-D At least until they get back from work.
